HTML Implementation of ActiveX Controls

Implementing ActiveX controls in HTML Web pages requires the use of the HTML <OBJECT> and <PARAM> tags to include and configure each desired control. Although not too difficult, the syntax for using these controls and determining the correct configuration parameters for each can be an intimidating task. This is all the more so because Internet Explorer 4 implements plug-ins, applets, and ActiveX with the <OBJECT> tag.

FrontPage makes the process easier through its point-and-click method of control installation. Before you work with this, however, a brief discussion of how ActiveX works in a page will be helpful.
