If you are creating a Web site that contains a lot of changing Web page content, it is natural for you to assume that a database system is required. In some cases this may be necessary, but you should consider the type of project you are creating, especially if you are creating a high-traffic Web site.

Most people turn to database systems to help manage the content of Web sites and to make the publication of static information appear more instantaneous. However in such an environment, it is not efficient for the Web server to be constantly invoking database commands via Active Server Pages, just to present a document on the Web site.
