Using Shared Borders and Navigation Bars

Shared borders provide a quick and convenient way to give your web a consistent appearance. Navigation bars, which reside within these borders, greatly simplify creating and maintaining the links within a web. You can apply shared borders and navigation bars to an entire site at once and then (if you need to) individualize the borders of single pages within the web.

A handy thing about shared borders is that you can modify a border in Page view and apply that modification to all pages in the current web. Pages whose borders you have modified on an individual basis, however, do not change.
