Understanding the Page View Editing Environment

While the web management tools are crucial, the Page view editing environment is likely where you'll expend most of your creative energies. The FrontPage 2000 Web page editor is a very robust, full-featured Web page editor, supporting all the HTML standards up to and including 4.0, plus both the cascading style sheets specifications CSS1 and CSS2.

The Page view environment resembles a word processor in many ways. You can open several pages at the same time and switch between them; cut, copy, and paste page elements; perform spell checks; and format character appearance and size. You also have WYSIWYG frames, plus a tool for drawing tables directly on the page. You can follow links from one page to another even while editing them, which in effect turns FrontPage Editor into a mini-browser. Furthermore, you can load World Wide Web pages into FrontPage Editor to study the HTML code that makes such pages work. Most up-to-date of all, the editor provides tools for adding DHTML effects to your pages, without programming or scripting.
