Designers Corner

If you previously found yourself in a position of Web designer and have now found yourself in a position managing a team of developers, there are two courses of action you can take. Your first choice is to humbly take on your new position and pat yourself on the back for advancing in the world. If, on the other hand, you need to continue being the designer that you were in the midst of your new role as manager, there is a way to do both.

There is no rule that prevents a manager from designing the templates to be used by the team. There is also nothing preventing the same manager from designing a site theme or even Web shells and bringing the team in to "fill in the blanks." Not everyone might have the eye for design that you do and designing the basic building blocks for the project that your team must take on is not always the worst idea.
