Why Would Web Developers Want to Do This?

In other Microsoft Office applications, VBA is used most often to create runtime type of effects. For example, a programmer may create a VBA checkbook manager "application" that is embedded inside of an Excel workbook. When the workbook is opened, the VBA program displays its user interface to the user.

Runtime effects for FrontPage documents (since they are just HTML files) are created by using scripting languages in conjunction with standard HTML elements and Active elements (ActiveX controls, Java Applets, and so on). FrontPage's VBA is designed for a much different purpose: creating programs that function in a design-time environment. Here are a few examples.
