Project Web

The Project Web offers a means for members of a team project to keep in touch with each other, and perhaps more importantly, a place for you to put all information about the project that everyone involved should be able to retrieve. Its primary use will be in an intranet. For some organizations, the Project Web will be sufficient to replace more complex software packages such as Lotus Notes, but even within these organizations, a Project Web might suffice for a small working group collaborating on a specific project or portion of a project.

Page 1: Home

The template home page for the Project Web offers a brief description and a What's New area, as well as a series of links to the other pages in the web. Because a Project Web is meant primarily as an internal site, there's not as much need for extensive editing to appeal to customers. The design decisions made here should reflect your management goals of professionalism and efficiency, and should be less marketing-driven than the customer support site. Members of the Project Web are usually your co-workers, who can expect a certain amount of "cutting through the hype." The efficiency is displayed in providing ease of access to information, and by constantly updating the What's New information.
