Chapter 4. Developing the Basic Page: Te... > Adding Paragraphs of Normal Text

Adding Paragraphs of Normal Text

In FrontPage, you produce most text with the Normal style, which by default is set to the Times New Roman font. In other words, if you see the entry (default font) in the Font box in the Formatting toolbar, any typing you do will display in Times New Roman. Because FrontPage supports the <font face = > and </font> tags, however, you aren't limited to Times New Roman for Normal text; you can change fonts with the Format, Font command . The available fonts are whatever TrueType fonts you have installed on your system.

Before using different fonts, though, be aware that only browsers (MS Internet Explorer 3.0 and later and Netscape 3.0 and later) that support these <font face = > and </font> tags will display the font you choose. In older browsers, or in browsers on machines that don't have that particular font installed, the text shows up in whatever proportional font the browser's user has selected as default. Still, the font-capable browsers are very widely used now, and in most circumstances you can comfortably use a range of fonts .
