Creating a New One-Page Web and Its Home Page

Now that you've had a look at some basic design principles, the rest of this chapter explores how to place text and hyperlinks on a clean page. The page to start with is the home page of a single page Web. To create such a Web, use the following steps:

  1. Start FrontPage. Choose File, New, Web, and when the New dialog box appears, select One Page Web. The page created will automatically be the Web's home page .

  2. Find the text box labeled Specify the Location of the New Web. Here you must type either the pathname of the new Web (if it is to be a disk-based Web) or the URL of the new Web (if it is to be a server-based Web). Do so, and choose OK. If this is the first time you are running FrontPage, it may ask you if you want to create the directory MyWeb. Accept this default if you wish.
