Chapter 4. Developing the Basic Page: Te... > Thinking Through Your Page Design

Thinking Through Your Page Design

Compared to writing HTML code with a text editor, making a page in FrontPage's Page view is easy. You can drop in a few headers, some paragraphs of text, three or four images (and maybe an imagemap), a list, a form, a table, some Dynamic HTML effects, some sound, and as many hyperlinks as you please, all in a very short time. Now you've got a home page. Then you do another page, and another, and soon you've got a wonderful Web site ready for the world to visit. Don't you?

Well, maybe, but bad design is the nemesis of many, many Web pages, and you risk producing an unattractive page if you don't know and follow a few common sense guidelines. Most importantly, you have to think about your visitors and how they're likely to experience your site.
