A Word About the Old Stuff

You may be familiar with the legacy automation interfaces that were exposed in previous versions of FrontPage. While these interfaces were not an object model, they did expose a number of functions that programmers could call to manipulate the FrontPage Explorer and FrontPage Editor applications. These interfaces are still supported and available in FrontPage 2000 in exactly the same manner as the old FrontPage versions. The Explorer interfaces are available via the ProgID of FrontPage.Explorer and the Editor interfaces are available via the FrontPage.Editor ProgID.

For example, the following code creates two objects: fpexplorer and fpeditor. The former exposes the legacy calls for the FrontPage Explorer application and the latter exposed the FrontPage Editor application's functions:
