Chapter 17. Configuring Webs > Giving Permission to Administer, Author, and Bro...

Giving Permission to Administer, Author, and Browse Your Webs

Your webs are important primarily because they show off your company documents or your personal preferences to the world, as well as offer important information to members of your company or organization. Because of this, you don't want just anybody putting information on your site. In fact, you need strict control over who can make changes. If FrontPage didn't offer a system for setting permissions, anyone on the Internet could make changes to your web; you'd wake up every morning wondering exactly how your public image had been modified. Who needs that kind of excitement?

FrontPage lets you set permissions for users to administer, author, and browse your webs. Each of these is explored in detail in this section.
