Cross-Referencing Other Document Files

So far, you explored cross-references within the same file. What if you want to create cross-references to other files in your documents? This task requires the same procedure as cross-referencing within the current document, except for one thing: When you create cross-references to FrameMaker files other than the current file, the file containing the source information must be open in order to select it from the Document list in the Source pane of the Cross-Reference window, as shown in Figure 5.9. If the file isn’t open, it doesn’t show up in the document list.
