Chapter 7. Using Pictures in Web Pages > Saving Pictures to the Current Web

Saving Pictures to the Current Web

Anytime you insert, import or scan in new pictures, FrontPage adds the picture to the page, but doesn’t necessarily save the picture file to the current web. To save pictures to the current Web, press Ctrl+S to save the page, and then use the Save Embedded Files dialog box to specify how you want FrontPage to handle the pictures you’ve inserted, imported and scanned in.

You will then have the option of setting the picture file name, save folder, and picture file type—or simply clicking OK to accept the default options. If you accept the default options, the pictures are saved to the base folder of the web using the original file name, and FrontPage will automatically convert the picture to either GIF or JPEG format as necessary. Pictures with 256 or fewer colors are converted to GIF. Pictures with more than 256 colors are converted to JPEG.
