Choosing Picture File Formats

Most current Web browsers can display only two picture file formats: Graphics Interchange Format (GIF) and Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG). A few browsers also support Portable Network Graphics (PNG), a new high-function alternative. Table 25-1 compares these formats.
