Creating and Editing Tables

FrontPage 2003 provides two markedly different user interfaces for working with HTML tables, and in fact calls the results by two different names:

  • Conventional HTML tables The sorts of tables FrontPage has been creating since its beginning. FrontPage provides some facilities for working with conventional HTML tables while in Design view but requires switching to dialog boxes more often than might be the case with layout tables.

  • Layout Tables Have relative fixed dimensions and display these dimensions when you select a table in Design view. FrontPage provides rich controls for resizing layout tables; for adding and resizing rows, columns, and cells; and for other operations—all without leaving Design view
