Creating and Customizing Themes

The process of creating a new theme and that of customizing an existing one differ only in one step. Here’s an overview of the process:

1.
Display the Theme task pane. For example, choose Theme from the Format menu.

To create a new theme, click the Create New Theme link at the bottom of the task pane. To customize an existing theme, right-click its thumbnail preview, and choose Customize from the shortcut menu. Either action will display the Customize Theme dialog box, shown in Figure 20-3.

3.
Use the Colors, Graphics, and Text buttons to set the theme properties you want. The next three sections will provide more detail about this process.

4.
Click the Save or Save As button to save your changes.
