Managing Confirmation Pages

Certain FrontPage components prompt your Web visitors for data and then submit the data to a Web server for processing by the FrontPage Server Extensions or Windows SharePoint Services. Three of these components—Save Results, Registration, and Discussion—confirm successful server-side processing by echoing the data back to the person who entered it. A Web page that echoes submitted data this way is called a confirmation page. The same three components also support validation failure pages—pages that report failures caused by invalid input.

If you don’t specify a confirmation page or a validation failure page, the component’s form handler generates default pages as required.
