FrontPage Overview

At its core, FrontPage is a visual editor that Web designers use to design Web pages. When the designer saves the page, FrontPage converts the design to Hypertext Markup Language (HTML)—the stuff of which Web pages are actually made.

The Web’s basic operating approach is quite simple. It involves the exchange of information between a computer that requests information, often called a client, and one that delivers the information, usually called a server. The client’s software, called a browser, requests Web pages from a server located somewhere on a network, whether it’s a corporate intranet or the global World Wide Web.
