Chapter 18. Controlling Overall Page App... > Using FrontPage Color Dialog Boxes

Using FrontPage Color Dialog Boxes

FrontPage provides three levels of control over most color settings. To fully exploit the use of color in your Web pages, you need to understand all three levels. They are as follows:

  • A drop-down list with these choices: Automatic, the 16 original VGA colors, any other colors that already appear in the current page, and Custom.

  • A second dialog box with 127 color swatches, 6 gray-scale swatches, a black swatch, a white swatch, and a button for “picking up” any color currently displayed on screen.

  • The standard Windows color picker with 48 basic color swatches, 16 configurable color swatches, and controls for specifying exact colors two different ways: via the Hue, Saturation, Luminance (HSL) color model and via the Red, Green, Blue color model.
