Importing Text

FrontPage is remarkably capable at accepting whole files or selected portions—in almost any format—and converting them to HTML. To add such content to a Web page, open the page in FrontPage, and take the following actions:

  • To insert an entire file by dragging it, locate the file’s icon in Windows Explorer and drag it to the desired location in Design view.

  • To insert an entire file using commands:

    1. Set the insertion point where you want the file to appear in FrontPage.

    2. Choose File from the Insert menu, and locate the file you want to insert.

    3. Double-click the file name, or select it and click the Open button.

  • To insert less than an entire file by dragging: Open the file in its normal application, select the desired content, and then drag the selection into FrontPage Design view.

  • To insert part of a file using commands:

    1. Open the file in its normal application.

    2. Select the desired content, and copy the selection to the Clipboard.

    3. In FrontPage Design view, set the insertion point where you want the content to appear, then choose Paste from the Edit menu or press Ctrl+V.
