Q&A

Q1:In FrontPage 2002, I was able to create a link bar with text links instead of graphical buttons. Is this still possible?
A1: You can still use text instead of graphics, but the feature has moved. When selecting a style for the link bar, scroll all the way to the bottom of the Choose a Bar Style list. You'll find several choices where the links are text rather than graphical buttons. After selecting one, click Next to choose the orientation of the bar.
Q2:Several of FrontPage's Web site templates use shared borders instead of dynamic Web templates. Which is better?
A2: Dynamic Web templates are more useful because they protect the shared parts of a page from being changed. Shared borders enable content to be shared among several Web pages, but that content can be modified at any time without restriction. Also, a dynamic Web template can be defined in a single file, while borders require up to four files.

Microsoft's documentation for FrontPage 2003 states that shared borders are offered so that Web sites created with earlier versions of the software can be edited normally.
