Using Special Cell Formats

You also have control over the formatting of the individual cells in your tables. For instance, you can merge several cells (a whole row of cells) and use the merged cells as a place to add a heading for the table.

You can also insert a diagonal line in cells in a Publisher table. This enables you to divide the cell into two areas. This is often used on calendars to divide a cell (a certain day of the week) that holds two dates (such as the 24th and the 31st).
