Lesson 21. Creating a Publisher Web Site > Publishing Your Web Site

Publishing Your Web Site

Web sites that you view on the World Wide Web actually consist of text objects, pictures, and other items that exist as separate elements. The Web page itself is just a way for you (using your Web browser) to link to the different items that you click.

When you create a Web site in Publisher, all the items (the pictures, text, and so on) are saved as part of the publication. For your site to actually work on the Web, the publication has to be broken down into all its elements and saved to a folder. The files in the folder can then be placed on a Web server that enables people on the Web to access your site.
