Graphics and Images Basics

Back in Lesson 5, "Working with Text," when you leaned how to add text to your pages, you learned that text is the "meat and potatoes" of your Web pages. Well, in this lesson you learn how to add graphics to your pages, what some might refer to as the "gravy."

The term graphics usually refers to any visual, non-text element on a Web page. The term images usually refers to static graphic files in one of two native Web formats—GIF (Graphics Interchange Format) or JPEG (Joint Photographic Expert Group).
