Setting up the document

1.
Launch Adobe InDesign CS2, and choose File > New > Document.

In the New Document dialog box, set the number of pages to 4, and the number of columns to 4. Leave all the other settings at their default values, and click OK.

Choose File > Save. Name the document mynewsletter.indd, navigate to the Lesson04 folder, choose the InDesign CS2 document format, and click Save.

Note

When there is more than one column on a page, the use of a baseline grid ensures that text always lines up from one column to the next, and from page to page. To simplify things for this lesson, however, you will not use a grid. For further information, search for “baseline grid” in the Adobe Help Center under Help for InDesign.
