Lesson 8. Presenting with Styles > Setting up text frames

Setting up text frames

Now that the graphic appearance is set for the presentation, defining where the text will go is next. For this, default text frames must be prepared on the master page—one for the headers and one for the main text.

1.
With the Type tool, draw a frame just inside the documents margins in the top right corner, as shown in the illustration. You will adjust the dimensions of the frame in the next step.

2.
Select the frame with the Selection tool. In the Control palette, set the top right corner as reference point, and then enter 800 pt as width and 100 pt as height.

3.
Alt-Shift-click / Option-Shift-click the frame, and drag the pointer to create a second frame underneath.

4.
In the Control palette, with the reference point unchanged, enter 170 pt as distance from top of page and 420 pt as height for the frame.
