Lesson 5. Building a Web Site > Setting up an RGB document with custom swatches

Setting up an RGB document with custom swatches

1.
Start Photoshop and choose File > New.

2.
In the New dialog box, name the document webbanner, set Width to 620 pixels, Height to 160 pixels, and Resolution to 72 pixels/inch. Select the RGB Color mode, 8 bit. Choose White as Background Contents, and then click OK.

Before starting to design the Web banner, you will load into Photoshop the RGB color swatches that were just exported from Illustrator.

3.
In the Swatches palette, choose Preset Manager from the palette menu. Choose Select > All to select all swatches in the Preset Manager dialog box, and then click Delete.

4.
Click Load. In Windows choose Swatch Exchange (*ASE) from the Files of type pop-up menu. Navigate in the Load dialog box to the Lesson05 folder. Select the Basics_RGB.ase file, and click Load. Click Done to close the Preset Manager dialog box.

The Swatches palette now contains only the five Basics RGB color swatches.
