Lesson 1. Asset Creation and General Setup > Saving color swatches for exchange

Saving color swatches for exchange

1.
Choose Save Swatches for Exchange from the Swatches palette menu. In the Save Palette as Swatch Library dialog box, click Use Adobe Dialog in the lower left corner. (If the button in the lower left corner reads Use OS Dialog, leave things as they are.)

A view of the files and folders on your computer is displayed, very similar to the one you saw earlier in Bridge. In particular, the CS2CIB Lessons Favorites folder is shown in the list on the left-hand side of the dialog box.

2.
Click the CS2CIB Lessons folder icon in the list on the left-hand side of the dialog box to select it. Then, select the Lesson01 folder icon on the right-hand side, and click Open.

3.
Name the file Basics_CMYK.ase, make sure the Swatch Exchange File format is selected, and then click Save. Read the Alert about swatches containing gradients, patterns, or tints not currently being exchangeable, and click OK; this is of no importance at the moment since you are only working with regular color swatches.
