Chapter 43. Printing > Other Panels

Other Panels

InDesign’s Print dialog box offers three other panels, too.

  • Color Management. Color management is such a complex issue that we simply can’t cover it sufficiently in this book. We recommend reading Real World InDesign or Real World Color Management for more details on this topic. Suffice it to say that these features are grayed out unless you enable color management Color Settings.

  • Advanced. The Advanced Panel is sort of a “catch all.” It gives you controls for OPI workflows, for printing gradients to certain kinds of printers, and for choosing transparency flattener settings (see “Printing Transparency,” later in this chapter). For information on anything we’ve passed-over in this book, look to Real World Adobe InDesign CS.

  • Summary. The Summary panel displays a list of the settings you’ve made in all the Print dialog panels. We think it’s pretty useless, but it may be useful for troubleshooting or communicating with others who are handling your files.
