Chapter 25. Find and Change > Setting the Search Range

Setting the Search Range

Like XPress and PageMaker, InDesign lets you search the current story or the current document. InDesign can also search a text selection, multiple stories, or even all your open documents. In the Search popup menu, select the range to be searched: Selection, Story, Stories, To End of Story, Document, or All Documents. (The choices are context sensitive, so Stories is only available if you have more than one story selected with the Selection tool.) Note that searching a document also searches the master pages (in XPress, you have to do that as a separate search).
