Aligning Objects

InDesign offers the very same abilities to align and distribute objects offered in QuarkXPress’s Space/Align dialog box, using the Align palette, but we find its design is a great deal more intuitive.

To align or distribute objects, open the Align palette by choosing Align from the Window menu (or press F8), then show all its features by choosing Show Options from the palette menu. The Align palette is broken into five sections (see Figure 12-2). Remember that if you pause your cursor over a button, a tool tip provides a descriptive label.
