Opening the File in InDesign

Opening a PageMaker document or template is as simple as choosing Open from the File menu and selecting the file. In Windows, choose PageMaker (6.0-7.0) in the Files of Type menu. Select the PageMaker file, and click Open. Or, you can just drag the PageMaker file on top of the InDesign application icon on the desktop.

When converting a file, InDesign displays a series of messages describing its progress. When it finishes, it may display the Conversion Warnings dialog box (see Figure B-1). which lists objects it had difficulty converting or resources like fonts and graphics which were missing. However, the list is provided probably won’t alert you to every problem.
