Appendix B. Converting PageMaker Files

PageMaker users who are making the transition to InDesign are understandably concerned about how well their PageMaker documents are going to convert in InDesign documents. The good news is that the conversion from PageMaker to InDesign is relatively easy. In this appendix, we’ll cover what you can do to prepare for conversion, and what to expect afterwards.

InDesign CS can open documents and templates saved either as PageMaker 6.5 or 7.0 document from either Macintosh or Windows. If you’ve purchased Adobe’s PageMaker Plug-in Pack (see Chapter 2), you should also be able to open PageMaker 6.0 files.
