Working with InDesign Tagged Text

It’s been pointed out to us that we live on another planet. This planet, everyone agrees, is one very much like Earth. In fact, almost everything is the same—right down to the existence of a desktop publishing program named “InDesign.” At that point, however, things get different. Disturbingly, subtly different.

The most recent reason for the “Kvern and Blatner are alien weirdos” talk around our offices is that one of the features that excites us most about InDesign is rarely mentioned in the marketing materials. Or on the back of the box. It’s not the typesetting features, nor it it the ability to place native Photoshop and Illustrator files. We think those are great features, but they’re not it.
