Erasing Paths

Imagine that you want to remove an arbitrary section of a path, and that the beginning and end of the section do not correspond to existing points on the path. In InDesign 1.0, deleting this section of the path would have involved splitting the path using the Scissors tool (at either end of the section you wanted to delete) and then deleting the path segment between the two points.

These days, it’s much easier. Select the Erase tool from the Tools palette, then drag the tool over the area of the path you want to delete (see Figure 5-29).
