Chapter 19. Web Layouts >  Creating cascading menus

Creating cascading menus

When the user rolls over an area of a Web page that contains a cascading menu, only the top-level menu items on the cascading menu are visible. If the user rolls over a menu item, the submenu items under that menu item are revealed (they cascade). If the user chooses a submenu item to which a link has been attached, that link becomes activated . Aside from being fun to use, cascading menus allow a Web page designer to orchestrate how much information appears onscreen and keep a page from looking cluttered.
