Chapter 5. Text Flow > Deleting pages

Deleting pages

Both methods on this page work equally well for deleting pages. It all comes down to personal preference—whether you're a dialog box kind of person or a palette kind of person.

Pages keep coming back

If, when you delete layout pages from a print layout, Auto Page Insertion is on in Quark XPress (Edit, in Windows) > Preferences > Print Layout > General, and the master page has an intact (not broken) chain icon (which means an automatic text box is present), and the text in a linked chain doesn't fit completely on the pages that remain, new pages will be added automatically to accommodate the overflow text. If this makes you feel like the sorcerer's apprentice, turn Auto Page Insertion off; the overflow symbol will appear, and no new pages will be added. In both scenarios, the overflow text is preserved.
