Character

The Superscript Offset is the distance a superscript character is raised above the baseline, and it's measured as a percentage of the current point size. The Subscript Offset is the distance a character is lowered below the baseline. The Superscript, Subscript, and Small Caps VScale (height) and HScale (width) are calculated as a percentage of a normal uppercase letter.

TIP

Increase the HScale for Small Caps (it looks better), or better yet, use an expert font with built-in small caps.
