Runaround vs. clipping, in a nutshell

QuarkXPress and Photoshop

In Adobe Photoshop, if you convert a path into a clipping path and save the file in the EPS or TIFF format, you'll be able to select and edit the clipping path in QuarkXPress.

A Photoshop vector mask will display properly in QuarkXPress, but to have QuarkXPress make an editable clipping path from it, you have to save the file as a TIFF in Photoshop and then, in QuarkXPress, choose Non-White Areas as the clipping Type.


A clipping path controls which parts of a picture display and print. The Runaround feature controls how text wraps around a picture. The runaround text wrap or clipping path can be controlled by any of the following parameters :
