Chapter 77. Using Graphics within a Table > Choosing the Right Tool

Choosing the Right Tool

It’s a little confusing at first when working with graphics in a cell because you have to learn to use the correct tool to do what you want:

  • To select the cell or cells so you can set cell options or resize the cell boundaries, choose the Type tool. If necessary, click in the cell to get an insertion point. Then pressing the Escape (Esc) key toggles between selecting the cell and the cell’s contents (the graphic).

  • To perform transformations of the graphic frame and its content, use the Selection tool to select the graphic’s bounding box. Then use any of the transformation tools, or drag to move the graphic frame into position.

  • To select only the content of the graphic frame, use the Direct Selection tool.
