Editing Path Type

You can use the Selection or Direct Selection tools to drag the path type handles, manipulating the position of the type along the path. (Be careful not to click the in port or out port.) You can also drag the center handle to finesse the positioning.

Because path type is a special kind of text “frame,” its position is also controlled by the settings on the Paragraph palette. For example, clicking the Center icon (or pressing Command-Shift-C/Ctrl-Shift-C) centers the type along the path between the start and end handles. You can also use tabs and indents to move text along a path, but manipulating the handles is usually easier.
