Chapter 88. Managing Book Files > Preparing, Printing & Exporting Books

Preparing, Printing & Exporting Books

A great time saving feature of books is the ability to preflight, package, print, or export multiple documents without manually opening each one.

Preparing Books for Printing

Before you print or export, you can check the preparedness of all files in a book by choosing Preflight Book from the Book palette’s flyout menu (XPress doesn’t have this feature). InDesign checks all the documents listed in the book (or all the selected files, if you have chosen one or more in the palette) for missing or modified images along with possible color space problems and missing fonts. We discuss preflighting in detail in Chapter 91.
