Chapter 80. Applying Colors > Applying Colors to Frames and Text

Applying Colors to Frames and Text

Before using QuarkXPress’s Color palette, you need to tell XPress whether you want to color the selected box’s background, content, or frame, right? InDesign works the same way: Select one or more boxes, and then select whether you want to change the fill or the stroke attributes. These choices are found in three places: on the bottom of the Tools palette, and on the upper left corner of the Swatches and Color palettes (see Figure 80-1). You can also toggle between these two options by typing the letter X. If you pick the wrong attribute—fill instead of stroke, or vice versa—Shift-X swaps the fill and stroke colors.
