Lesson 6. Drawing Vector Graphics > Drawing curved segments with the pen tool

Drawing curved segments with the pen tool

In this part of the lesson, you'll learn how to draw smooth curved lines using the pen tool. As with the straight-line segments you drew earlier to create the collar, drawing curves with the pen tool involves positioning points that anchor the path. However, instead of simply clicking the pen tool, you'll drag to extend the two direction lines that precisely influence curve direction. When you release the mouse, a curve's starting point is created with its direction lines. Then you drag the pen tool to end the curve and to set the starting point and direction of the next curve.
