Part IV: Managing and Publishing Web Sites > Managing Web Site Workflow

Chapter 15. Managing Web Site Workflow

Like most publishing, Web publishing is usually a team sport. Writers create stories, editors proof copy and add headlines, artists produce graphics and illustrations, and designers lay it all out. Keeping track of who’s doing what on a Web site can be a challenge. Sometimes even if you’re doing it all yourself, it’s easy to forget key tasks. FrontPage’s tasks and reports views can be a big help in managing the workflow on the typical Web site with a zillion and one details.

You can use most of FrontPage’s workflow features no matter how you’re set up. Others, such as the system of checking Web files in and out (explained on page 379), will work only if your Web server has the FrontPage Server Extensions installed. For more on the extensions, see pages 385 and 417.
