Part V: Appendix > Installing FrontPage

Installing FrontPage

If you need to save hard drive space and do not have enough room for FrontPage's standard version, see To install a custom version of FrontPage.

To install the standard version of FrontPage

1.
Turn off all programs, including any anti-virus program you have running in the background.

2.
Put the FrontPage 2002 or Office XP CD in your disc drive. Once the CD launches, the User information screen will appear (Figure A.1). Enter your User name, Initials, and the 25-character Product Key, which you’ll find on the back of the CD’s jewel case. When you’re done, click Next.

3.
When the End-User License Agreement screen appears (Figure A.2), check I accept the terms in the License Agreement and click Next.

4.
Depending on whether you are upgrading FrontPage or installing it for the first time, the next screen will say Upgrade Now or Install Now and be set to install FrontPage in your main programs file (Figure A.3). In most cases, you should just click Next and the standard version of FrontPage will be installed. If you want to change the installation location, click Browse and navigate to where you want the program installed. You also can select one of three other installation configurations: Typical, Complete, or Custom, and click Next. For more information on these options, see To install a custom version of FrontPage.

Figure A.4. Double-check that the components you need are listed, then click Install.
