Adding or Excluding Pages in the Site Structure

It may not always be practical to create new Web pages by building them within the navigation view. Inevitably you will wind up with some free-standing Web pages that you will want to incorporate into your Web site’s navigational structure. There also will be times you want to remove a page from your structure.

To add an existing page to a Web site structure

1.
Switch to navigation view, make sure the Folder List is visible, and select in the Folder List the file (Web page) you want to add to the site’s structure (top, Figure 3.24).

Figure 3.24. To add an existing page to the site structure, select the file in the Folder List (top), and drag it into place in the main window (bottom).

2.
Drag the file into the main window and, as you position it, a dotted line will connect to the nearest page (bottom, Figure 3.24). Without releasing the cursor, reposition the file so that the dotted line connects to the desired part of the Web site diagram.

3.
Release the cursor and the page will be added to the Web site structure (Figure 3.25).
