Importing Databases

Whether the database is part of your Web site or resides on a server somewhere else doesn’t really matter. However, if you want to place the database on your Web site, you’ll need to import it in a format compatible with FrontPage (Table 13.1). If the database uses some other file extension, then use your database application to export it or save it in one of the formats FrontPage supports. Once you’ve done that, you’re ready to import the database using FrontPage.

Table 13.1. Compatible Database Formats for FrontPage
FILE EXTENSION FORMAT
.MDB Microsoft Access
.DBF dBase, Microsoft FoxPro
.XLS Microsoft Excel
.TXT Tab-separated text
.CSV Comma-separated text
