Adding Images

Once you’ve done the sometimes tedious work within a graphics program of slimming your image files down to the smallest possible size, adding them to a FrontPage Web page is a breeze.

To insert an image

1.
Switch to page view by clicking the Page icon in the Views Bar, then click where you want the image placed within a page.

Choose Insert > Picture, then choose Clip Art or From File from the submenu (Figure 7.2).

If you choose Clip Art, the Insert Clip Art task pane will appear on the main window’s right side. Use the Search text window and Search button to find an image (Figure 7.3). Click the image in the task pane and it will be added to the Web page. For details on using clip art, see Clip Art options.

If you choose From File, the Picture dialog box will appear (Figure 7.4). Use the Look in buttons or navigation icons to find a picture and click Insert to add the image to the Web page.

Save the page and its new image . If the image didn’t come from your current Web site, the Save Embedded Files dialog box will appear (Figure 7.5).

Click Rename if you want to change the file name and Change Folder if you want to save the file in another location. When you’re done, click OK and the image will be saved.

Once the image is inserted and saved, you can edit it, if necessary. See Editing Images.
